Light at the end of the tunnel

Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where we spent the Christmas holiday, is known for getting the most snow in Colorado. They also have some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen, the following being unexpectedly spectacular.

When it comes to natural beauty, not many places can compete with Colorado, the least of which is the Texas Hill Country.  However, the Hill Country has proximity working in its favor as opposed to the 14 hour drive to Colorado, making it a much more realistic candidate for the site of a quick weekend getaway.  I’m a big believer in working with what you’ve got and seeing the beauty that is to be found in even the most desolate or humble of landscapes.

There was a bit of a slow-down in progress that occurred because of the holidays, but we are nearing the end of our journey. The appliances, counter tops, and plumbing fixtures have been installed. The electrical work is nearly complete.

  1. OMG! The sunset photos are gorgeous! The interior ones of the house are very encouraging. Bear in mind, that every ending holds a new beginning. The next leg of your journey awaits you. As Annie and Luke were exclaiming around here this morning when playing a game of their creation…”Yipppeeeee”!

  2. Yeah. Colorado is hard to beat. Often wish I wasn’t so far away. But theBrushytop house is taking on significant readiness signs! You must be very excited.
